Mounted Archery and Jumping for Archers

Join us for the Iron Orchid Mounted Archery Practice, part of the Colorado Mounted Archers. 

Bring a horse or borrow one of mine (limited availability, first come first serve). We will be breaking this up into slightly different sections this time!

Intermediate/Advanced riders will practice first! Be ready to start by 9, so if you are bringing a horse please plan to arrive early.

For this group, we will also add in a brief “jumping for archers” clinic in the arena where we show our horses how to navigate a jump in the arena, and get them used to arrows loosing while jumping. Only one horse available to be borrowed for this section. Beginner archers are encouraged to watch.

For beginner archers, please plan to arrive by 11 if you don’t plan to watch the advanced riders. Please arrive at least 30 mins early if you plan to bring a horse. I have equipment for you to borrow, so no need to bring a bow unless you already have a horse archery bow. We will get you set up with the right equipment for your needs, and you will learn how to use everything safely for riding and shooting. No experience necessary!

We will begin with ground shooting practice, break for lunch and then start shooting from horses. 

Please bring water, a chair, snacks and sunscreen. We will have tents set up.
